How to Play Long Wordle Games

Playing any of the Long Wordle games is straightforward and follows the same game mechanics as Wordle (the classic 5-letter version) and other Wordle variants. Here’s how it works if you’ve never played Wordle before.

In every round, there is a target word. In the classic Wordle, there is one target word per day, but our games are unlimited, which is why we work with one target word per round.

Depending on the type of Long Wordle you choose to play, you start by entering any real word with the number of letters required by that game. For illustration purposes, I’ll explain using a 6-letter Wordle.

For a 6 letter Wordle, you begin by entering any six-letter word.

Let’s start with a word like “BASKET.” After entering BASKET, I receive the feedback shown below. In Wordle, color feedback is important. Generally:

???? Green: Means the letter is correct and in the right position.
???? Yellow: Means the letter is correct but in the wrong position.
⬜ Gray: Means the letter is not in the word.

In our case, this means that we have guessed T correctly, and B and E are also in the target word. We now know that the target word ends with T but doesn’t start with B.

Based on the feedback we’ve received, let’s try a second word. A good second guess should avoid the gray letters (A, S, K) because using them again would waste our guesses. Remember, we only have six tries to guess the target word.

The best second word should not only avoid those letters but also introduce new letters we haven’t tested yet. Based on this analysis, I chose to try “COMEDY.”

I wasn’t lucky with the second guess again, but it pointed me in the right direction in a big way because I now know five letters that are in the target word. These are B, C, O, E, and T.

Even better, I know that the target word ends with T and has E in the fourth position. I now only need to guess one letter to find the target word.

So, which word ends with T and contains B, C, O, and E? The most obvious word I could think of was OBJECT.

So let’s try it.

And I got it! As you can see, it’s a very interesting game. If you want to play again, just hit the Play Again button to start a new round.

If a 6-letter Wordle feels easy, you can try something harder by moving on to the next Long Wordle—a 7-letter Wordle, 8-letter wordle or 9-letter wordle . Depending on your preferences or the level of difficulty you want, you can go even further and try longer Wordles with 10+ letters, such as 11-, 12-, or 13-letter Wordles, all the way up to a 20-letter Wordle.

To reiterate the basic Wordle rules:

Start by guessing a word with the number of letters required by the game you’ve chosen.

If the letters of your guessed word turn gray, it means those letters are not included in the target word.

If the letters turn yellow, it means the letters are correct but are in the wrong positions.

If the letters turn green, it means the letters and their positions are correct.

If you enter a wrong letter, simply use the backspace arrow on the game’s keyboard to delete it.

That’s it. There’s nothing else to say about Long Wordle games. All we can tell you is to enjoy them to the fullest—they’re all free and unlimited.
